Shifting problems

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Sometimes it will shift at 20,38,49 which seems abnormal. Other times it will shift at 15,25,38,48 which is smooth and seems to be shifting normal. On a five mile trip across town, it has started shifting one way and after stopping at a light started shifting another. And at the next light, go back the other way. Overall it seems to shift abnormal at 20,38,and 49. Are there any solutions for this. Please help.

You may need to have your transmission flushed to get a fluid change. You may also want to have a dealership with a DRB-II diagnostic scanner check your solenoids, etc., and your transmission pump pressure in order to see that all is right with the electronic components of the transmission. It sounds like it is skipping the 1st-2nd shift. Probably a solenoid.
