2002 Accord SE stalls while coasting and wont restart for a few minutes

Asked by duke7927 Mar 19, 2016 at 02:09 PM about the 2002 Honda Accord Coupe SE

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My 2002 Accord SE has been stalling when I am coasting at low speed and
coming to a stop. This happens both while braking and when not braking.
After it stalls it takes several attempts to restart before it fires and runs.
Sometimes it will be fine the rest of the day and sometimes it happens
again. I just gave it a tune up (plugs, cap and rotar, air filter, oil). No
dashlights come on when this happens the car just dies as if the ignition
has been turned off. Otherwise it runs and drives fine with no sluggishness,
misfiring, etc. Any advice is appreciated.

Have you run fuel cleaner through the system via the fuel tank and or sprayed the intake with cleaner? If not, do all that. Also, which enigin? The V6es had a problem in the egr valve passages that need a thorough cleaning.
