2001 Honda Accord total loss of coolant

Asked by salpan Feb 07, 2015 at 09:41 AM about the 2001 Honda Accord Coupe EX with Leather

Question type: General

While driving on the highway my 2001 Honda Accord with a v6 I lost all coolant.  I first lost the heat and then my car started slowing down.  I stopped within a mile and when I stopped the car it was still was still idling.  I shut the car off and saw that the radiator had failed.  The oil looks good it wasn't creamy.  What are the chances that I didn't do damage to the head?

In your favor you did turn the engine off yourself versus having it shut itself off from overheating. All you can do is replace the radiator and run the engine and see if it shows any sign of warped heads or head gasket issues, but it seems you caught the problem in time.
