mustang 3,8l wrong timecover engine dies after 3 sec.

hi plz help , i hade an engine build in the U.S. , when i got the engine it had
a wrong timecover my car is a 1999 and it had a timecover from a 1995 (
not the same ) the engine starts but dies after 3 sec. , anybody out there
knows if the timecover can do this, my mekanic says no but i do think it has
some to do with engine dieing it looks like it fires wrong and the injector
shots wrong too.
HELP plz i have spend a lot of money on this engine :(

For a straight swap you need to use the engine from a '99-00 vehicle. I know the if you want to swap an older 3.8L engine from say a '95-'97 to the '99 you need a different fuel rail.
