1962 ford falcon should head lights come on without car being started, 6 volt, new battery??

Yes, you should be able to pull on the dash switch for headlights to come on without engine running if the battery is good. Otherwise there might be a fuse in the circuit that has failed. It would be rare for both headlights to have failed simultaneously.

Also my info shows the 1962 Falcon with a 12 volt battery, not 6 volts. You should still have lights but I would not be running a 6 volt battery. Have someone take a look or put a volt meter on it. Older cars had 6 volt systems, but not this one.

I have a new battery and the head lights won't come. this is a 6 volt system, is the only fuse panel near the light switch??
