My Mustang will not start!

Asked by Apr 27, 2017 at 08:41 AM about the 1999 Ford Mustang GT Convertible

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 1999 Mustang GT convertible which has
a new starter, alternator and battery (within the
last 6 months).  When I turn the key over the
battery sounds drained. The battery was recently
checked and was fine. The theft light does flash.
Do I need to reprogram the key?

The theft light will flash until you turn the key. The security system would not cause it to sound like this. Either there is a bad battery connection, bad battery cable, or there is a problem with the the starter, even tho it is just 6 months old. Should have the starter checked also.

SOUNDS LIKE A BAD CONNECTION SOMEWHERE......TRY CHANGING YOUR BATTERY CABLES AND CONNECTORS

In addition to the above suggestions...have the battery tested and check the car for parasitic draws. Something may be slowly draining the battery.
