How can can I start my truck after I change ignition cylinder activating anti theft?

Asked by Swain Sep 23, 2018 at 07:26 PM about the 2001 Jeep Cherokee Classic 4-Door 4WD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

So I bought a 2001 Jeep Cherokee last week and it kinda
made me nervous so today I changed the ignition key
cylinder now the car doesn’t start because of anti theft. I
read here about the anti theft protocol but I only have an
ignition key and no fob.

Tomorrow I think I will purchase replacement door cylinder
and but will the disarm anti theft protocol work then?

Wish I had an answer for you, I was told that mine would not start because of the anti-theft. So now I'm trying to figure out what to do.
