Asked by Mar 25, 2017 at 09:48 PM about the 1999 Ford Explorer 4 Dr XLT SUV

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Car won't start. Changed starter, had battery
tested,  it's good. Has been turning over and
starting after a few trys. Went out to start it today
battery gage was very low. Tried jumping and
turning it over a few more times now i have no
power at all. Can't hear any clicking, no dadh lights
or radio. Acts dead. Dome light very dim

It sound like the battery is worn down on charge now, and also sounds like there is a problem with the alternator. The battery needs to get charged back up and retested, and the alternator needs to be checked.
