2002 Jeep Liberty Overheating

I have a 2002 Jeep liberty that runs fine on highways and through town but
when I drive over mountains she overheats pretty quickly. I dont push her very
hard over the mountains and she still over heats. Looking for possible
problems or if that is common.

(12/21/16) and the comments and/or: Knowhow.napaonline.com, Blare Lampe DOES ENGINE PERFORMANCE DEPEND ON CLIMATE AND ALTITUDE? (4/27/17) ...for some interesting information. It appears that topography may explain why your Jeep is more vulnerable to overheating when driving through the mountains. This should provide insight into why Cherokee ALTITUDE, Grand Cherokee ALTITUDE, and Grand Cherokee HIGH ALTITUDE models are now available.
