Starter problems?

Hello, i was wondering about a problem with my 2002 jeep
liberty.. When i try and start my car sometimes it does this
weird grinding noise. And sometimes it'll do the same noise
but wont start and I'll re try it and the same grinding sound
happens.. I'll wait a few minutes and itll start.. Is this a
starter issue?
