how to replace heater core in 2002 Liberty

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

No heat, no leaks either internal or external. When energized the AC will cycle off/on erratically. Smells of
syrup, no visible leakage.

Replacing the core is not easy on any car. Try flushing water through the core to see if it's blocked. If water flows, look for another reason for no heat. Usually it's a vacuum leak or the bypass door that is the problem. A core gets replaced when it leaks or is gunked up with radiator seal products.
