It won't move in reverse or drive but it will in first and second

My 1999 Ford explorer will not move in
reverse or forward drive but it drives on first
and second could you tell me what the
problem is

The transmission probably needs to be rebuilt. Resist the idea of visiting your local junk yard in the notion you are going to get off cheap.

I have a 2010 Ford explorer and it won't go in drive or reverse. But it will go in 3rd. It's spitting out antifreeze at the housing and it smokes but it's not over heating on my thermostats in the truck.
