2007 yukon denali wheels won't turn, loud "turning" sound underneath

Asked by Latrecia May 13, 2017 at 11:51 AM about the 2007 GMC Yukon Denali AWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 2007 yukon denali. Went to make a hard
left and there was a huge "pop" sound followed by
a loud "turning" sound underneath the truck, but
the it would no longer drive. It rolls and can still be
moved while in park. It starts fine and all electrical
components are working fine. There were 4 small
metal "balls" and another piece on the ground.
What's happening here?

Your CV joint sounds like it popped open. If that is the issue you might want to do both sides. Good Luck!

The constant velocity joint at the front axle (CV joint) is broken. Repair will require a new CV / Axle assembly to be installed on the side that is broken.
