Try a few general maintenance things first. Check air filter and replace in necessary, clean throttle with throttle body cleaner, replace fuel filter if have not done so in a while and add fuel injector cleaner to gas tank. Then take vehicle out on road and hit the passing gear a few times this will help blow out the gum and carbon build up in engine.
