Problems on right from side of vehicle

Could be a loose stabilizer link, fairly easy diy if your into that. Other ideas or worn strut/shock mount. Due to the age I'd give the front end a good look over since worn ball joints are a very serious issue for any vehicle. Good Luck!

Rebuilt many a front end from the 99 generation. It's torsion bar suspension. The thump is probably a stabilizer link as Brian suggested. Easy to see and repair if that is the only problem. Ball joints are probably shot if never serviced. If you can watch a video on the net, and are reasonably adept at using basic hand tools you can rebuild the entire front end with only one speciality tool for about 700 bucks plus the cost of an alignment. No serviceable parts here. Everything is unbolt, remove and replace.
