Was this a used engine you replaced it with? It sounds like you have a blown head gasket. Is there a "milky" look to the oil under the oil filler cap? Plugs didn't cause this problem.

Oldtimer has a great answer. White smoke , usually steam from water entering the exaust system somehow, A compression test will usually reveal the location of the problem. One cylinder low sometimes reveals a cracked engine block, two adjacent cylinders low usually indicates a blown head gasket in the area between those two cylinders.

Also, you may notice bubbles when you remove radiator cap. Do so only when engine is cold, then start engine, allow to warm, check for bubbles. Do not continue to drive with this condition or you may do more damage to engine.

If you just bought this engine from a reliable source, notify them as it should be replaced under a guarantee (if you got one!)

White smoke is coolant in your combustion chamber, blue smoke indicates bad piston oil rings. You have a gasket leak or blown head gasket.
