How long will my battery last?

Asked by thailen May 25, 2020 at 07:50 PM about the 2017 Honda Fit EX

Question type: General

I recently bought a 2017 Honda FIT with 62,000 miles. It works fine. In a month I'm taking a 650 mile trip from New Orleans to Ft.Lauderdale,Florida and storing it for 2 1/2 months. After driving the car almost nonstop and parking it, if I disconnect the battery, when I return 2 1/2 months later, will I need to have it charged up with cables?

It won’t last 21/2 months that’s for sure. It will need a float charger to keep it going that long. If it’s not where there will be a power outlet then look into solar float chargers that you can hookup to the battery and let the sun keep it up.

You don’t want it to drop to low or it can mess up the computers and that will be bad news.
