99 Expedition Eddie Bauer edition AC problems

Asked by MandyHolliman Aug 09, 2015 at 08:44 PM about the 1999 Ford Expedition 4 Dr Eddie Bauer SUV

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 99 expedition Eddie Bauer edition. it has front middle and rear blowers for the AC/Heating system. Both of my rear blowers are working great. My front blowers do not work. when I hit the black box under my glovebox I can hear it kick on and cold air comes out my vents, but when I stop hitting it the thing stops. I need to know if you think its the motor, the switch, or something different. I took out my control panel and all the vacuum hoses are hooked up. I didn't see any problems with the vacuum lines under the hood, or anywhere else. I am going to be honest im a single mom and I will be fixing it myself. so I need help in what yall think I should try or what would be the cheapest fix to start with......

You really will not know what is going on with blower until you get to it to check it out it maybe something as simple as loose connection r the motor itself. Just a guessing game until you get to it.

It definitely has something to do with the blower motor connection or motor.

There is a resistor block in the duct under the glove box that uses resistors to give you the slower blower speeds. It has a connector on it that could be loose, the resistor block commonly go bad, they cost around $9 at Advance or Auto Zone.
