Why does eco turn on with sport mode? Am I able to turn
eco off with sport mode on?

Eco mode does not turn on. The light that you see is showing that eco mode is turned off. In normal driving mode, you can select the eco button to turn it off. Selecting the sport mode automatically turns off eco and simultaneously turns on smiles.
