Does it overheat at idle or slow speed? Or when driving? Overheating at idle or slow speed indicates an airflow problem. Such as the cooling fans not coming on or the front of the air conditioning condenser might be plugged with leaves, dirt, etc. If it overheats when driving, especially at expressway speeds a coolant circulation problem is the culprit. The cooling system passages in the engine may be clogged with rust and corrosion. A cooling system flush with a chemical cleaner should do the trick. One other cause of overheating is retarded (late) ignition or valve timing. If the timing chain is worn your valve timing will be retarded and cause overheating and lack of power. A bad knock sensor can excessively retard the ignition timing and cause overheating and lack of power as well. Hope that helps! Jim
