2017 Buick Encore

my friend just bought a 2017 Encore & there is no covering over the firewall.
Dealership said none of them do. It throws small stones thru the hole & her
jeans get dusty. She is worried also that it will make it easier for mice to get in
her car. Do the encores really not built with a firewall covering?
