2017 malibu radio

Asked by Woody0122 Mar 17, 2017 at 11:36 PM about the 2017 Chevrolet Malibu LT FWD

Question type: General

After starting the malibu remotely, I got into
the car, and pushed the start button.
Everything worked normally except the radio
display did not come on. The screen stayed
dark. The power button would not turn it on,
nor any of the radio buttons on the steering
wheel. Had to turn the car off, then on again
to get radio on. Is there a problem? Any info
will be greatly appreciated.

You have a car warranty, take it to your dealer and have it fixed for free.

That's obvious, and I will but they are not open now, just thought I might get some inteligent insight, here while the dealer is CLOSED! I don't think there is a problem, the car has 300 miles on it. May be something I'm not doing, or overlooking.

Well we will see i have an 2017 Malibu also brand new no issue's, but my father has a 2016 new Camaro SS and his amplifier went out they are fixing the issue now. So i guess we have to wait a year for recalls. But thay had recalls on the 2016 Malibu and i hope they corrected it before we bought ours!! ☺

I dont know if you will see this, but what was the problem, because this is where my problem started , and now I am almost stalling with autostop (drops to 11 and 10 volts)

I took my 1 month old Malibu in with the same navigation screen problem. Drove it off the lot after the repair and it happened again. They ended up having to remove the dash to plug the connector. Now it is 2 months old and the sound went off today and the display showed up in the odometer screen area of the steering wheel without me touching anything.

I am just now having this issue as of today. It is also warm to touch. Of course it's Sunday and Service Dept is closed.

There is clearly a problem with 2017 Chevy Malibu radios. After the display worked on and off for several weeks, the dealership, Sun Chevrolet of Chittenango, New York, said it is a problem with the radio. Said they have seen it repeatedly in this model. Shortly after that, the radio failed. They said the radio needed to be replaced. I did that at the dealership, Sun Chevrolet of Chittenango, New York. Cost about $600. Three months later, new radio failed. Have yet to hear from them again weather they're going to make it right.
