Where can I find a step by step guide to safely removing
interior panels, covers, etc. for interior custom cleaning?

Look for a chassis manual for your vehicle, or try Autozone.com, you have to register an account there but they have most manuals in their repair section.

from my experience , you can vacuum the carpet on older vehicles till your arm falls off , but when you hit it with compressed air all kinds of dirt gets blown out of the carpet , FYI
