2017 Mirage

Asked by Humbledbyluv29 Oct 14, 2017 at 06:14 PM about the 2017 Mitsubishi Mirage G4 SE

Question type: Car Customization

I have a 2017 Mirage G4 SE, I am hoping to
eventually swap a more powerful engine in it but I
don't know where to start. I'm not a mechanic but I
dabble in the most basic form; Something broke on
my previous vehicles I looked up how to fix it.
This'd be my first engine swap and I'm looking for
the best approach to doing the research: what
engines could fit? How do I figure out spacing? And
so on. Quick thank you to any/all people that throw
me something constructive.

By the time you get done with your goal ,, you may be able to buy another high performance car with a turbo charger ... not to mention the fact that your VIN no longer describes the car and you may lose a boatload of money when you sell it

@Toms: It isn't idea to dump money into making this car a rally car but its my first build so its worth it to me if that makes sense. I see quite a few cars like it in my area but I need mine to be original. I could easily save all of that money, get my RAM back, do smalls mods to it and be set. I have to reiterate that the only reason I want to mod this particular vehicle is that its my first ever build/modding/tuning and it has a lot of promise when built up right.

If your mind is set on increasing performance then get a super-charger,,, not the kind you see on Ebay for less then $500 but a real supercharger ,,, that will do the job ...The problem just dropping another engine in is of course space and you have a front wheel drive. Remember to get the engines ECU so it won't be that bad to integrate the wiring

I think the most ideal swap for this would be a 4g63, they are fairly common, Mitsubishi used them in many cars for many years even the older mirages had them. The lancer evolution used a turbo version for gen 1-9. It one of the best 4 cyl ever madem
