Battery light flashed 2000 Ford Taurus engine stalled and would not restart what would keep a car from keeping a charge

Driving home battery light was on and off several times went to go back to work after lunch Car started fine and made it to thew dollar store and than to a gas station came out and car would not start no dash lights or sounds.. Got a jump it started going down the highway and the engine cuts out and will not restart Please tell me cpould it be the altanater not pulling charge from the battery?

First check the terminals and the postive cable on the battery. I have a taurus also and I've had to replace the positive terminal a couple of times. If fine, I would take the battery to autozone and have it tested for free. If the battery is fine ask them to test the altanator while your there.

the other day when i was driving my car the battery light came on then it went off. it was flashing then it would go off for a little while. could it be the alternator or the battery? i have had my battery for six years.i drive a 2001 ford taurus.
