how much negotiating power do I have?

Question type: Car Selling & Trading In

I purchased a certified pre owned car from a authorized dealer.  It had 8000
miles on it.  Basically a baby.  I have had numerous problems within my 6
months of owning it. Its been at the shop for days/weeks trying to fix a variety
of problems.  I am now interested in going back to the dealer to trade for a
different car.  Is it reasonable to ask that the entire purchase price, including
the trade, be applied to another car?
