Can I disable the automatic car seat settings (1 & 2) from the fob remote key?

Asked by May 11, 2017 at 02:59 PM about the 2017 Acura RDX FWD

Question type: General

My wife is short. Her seating arrangement for driving, does not allow her to
enter or exit the car conveniently. She uses key#1 to set seat-option-1 to be
wide and open for easy entry, then press seat-option-2 to close in to start
driving, then press seat-option-1 to get out of the car.
I have key#2. When the door opens, automatically the seat is set to option-2,
I can't get in. I have to wait to press seat-option-1 then get in the car... poor
design on RDX. (Actually, My wife is 5'3". I am 5'10").

Poor design? I think most cars with memory seats, the key fob is what sets the seat position. So if you use either key 1 or key 2, the seat will adjust to that position automatically when you open the door. So it is doing what it's designed to do according to what you describe. I think your asking the seat memory function to remember two positions, one to get in and one to drive. I would just use one and reprogram as necessary. Check the owners manual for more specifics.
