I have a 2002 isuzu rodeo and it cranks fine but shuts off when you place it in any gear.

My 2002 Isuzu rodeo will crank fine but when you put it in any gear it goes dead.

Vacuum lines, fluid level , make sure you don't have a short somewhere in wiring that only touches when shifted. Can happen.
