There's a high probability that the heater core has a small leak. Start researching how to replace it. Check the HVAC drain at the bottom center of the firewall for leaks. Keep an eye on your coolant reservoir too.

if you are smelling the anti-freeze inside the ranger, its most likely the heater core or hose connection to the heater core; if the smell is from the outside, you should be able visibly see where the leak is - hopefully it will be something simple - overflow tube/tank has a leak.

13 year old vehicle, probably hose leak, but look for leaks (wet floor board, puddles on ground under vehicle, around hoses on intake manifold) which should indicate where roughly the leak is. Then either do the pressure tester idea for actual view on leak to get correct part. If one hose is leaking, others probably will soon. Suggested replacement for all hoses, belts and wiper blades are usually one or two years depending on use.

Good chance that it is the heater core if you smell it in the vehicle.

have you looked at the waterpump? there's a weep hole at the bottom of the input shaft that will start to lose coolant when it's time to replace this one~
