Help!! 1990 chevy 1500 electrical issue???

Asked by 5fightingirish Jan 16, 2017 at 07:32 PM about the 1990 Chevrolet C/K 1500 RWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

The other day the brake lights went out in
truck, recently purchased. Took to shop they
said it was a faulty ground wire and fixed the
lights I drove home happy. This evening
when I went to turn on the defrost and the
heat realized the display lights were on but
now the heat doesn't work. Im not a
mechanic or car savy by any means. So Im
wondering is this potentially a huge problem
or is this a simple fix?

It could be that short you have there ciuld be another one, I would do a battery to body ground and rule that out as a cause

check into any "lemon laws" unless the receipt said "as is" then there's no recourse . If you're not mech. inclined it's a huge problem , electrical can be a problem even for some mechs.
