Question type: Maintenance & Repair

A friend and I just replaced the flex plate in my 96
Chevy Silverado half ton. My 4 wheel drive feels
like it is stuck in 4 low, the lever is in 2 high. It's not
shifting to other speeds as well. She's an
automatic

Did you make sure that the torque converter was seated correctly in to the front pump or when it was 1/2 inch of going in you just went ahead and wrenched it in and screwed up the front pump !!! Why did why did you have to replace the flex plate anyhow ??? Could I have been that the bearing in the front pump was worn and the torque converter had so much play in it that it finally fatigued the flex-plate till it cracked ???
