Crank/ No Spark

10

Asked by Danny Nov 28, 2018 at 03:33 PM about the 1997 Chevrolet C/K 1500 Silverado Stepside RWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Truck died while running. Will crank but won’t
spark. Change ignition coil, spark plugs,
spark plug wires, cam shaft sensor. Any
ideas before I spend more money on
distributor, crank shaft sensor, and ignition
module.

How about looking up how to test these items on YouTube. My mind went to crankshaft sensor but these older cars have the ignition modules that have issues. A simple voltmeter can save you some money unless you just want to replace parts because you know they are original...

Did the crankshaft it kicked on the coil, tried the module and did nothing

Update on the truck, tested everything nothing, replaced crank sensor, and distributor cap and rotor. Still didn’t spark. Replaced ignition mod and it fired over. Thnx for the input
