why does my truck want to keep running when i shut it off?

sometimes my truck will try to keep running for a few seconds and at other times it will spit and sputter for 15 seconds.

It has to do with a lot of carbon build up on the pistons and valves. The carbon gets super heated like a piece of charcoal and keeps burning the excess gas that is left over. Timing can have an affect on this if it is too far advanced.
