What are the correct settings for the
screws on the 4 barrel quadrajet carb and
the screws for the throttle and the screw
on the linkage for the electric choke. It
seems like it might be putting too much
gas in the carb.

I think your problem may be with the ignition timing.

If it truly is getting that much extra fuel adjusting the mixture screws won't do that. It really sounds like spark isn't coming at the right time
