why is my 5.7 vortec engine idling to low

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

97 chevy with 5.7 vortec engine : its idling ruff and low , had it scanned , indicated spider injector needed replacing , had it replaced , starts right up now , still idles ruff and low , but now it has a hesitation after tranny shifts , thought tranny might be slipping a bit , had it serviced , tranny is fine , still has the hesitation . it does need a tune up , this might solve the low and ruff idle .  My question is , does the hesitation have to do with the spider injector not being installed properly ? or will a tune up solve this problem ?
the engine was not going through any hesitation before the spider injector was installed , it was running fine except for the low idle.  anybody else gone through this problem ?

Idle Air Control Valve may need to be cleaned or replaced. The port it goes into would need to be cleaned out good also. That is a major source of vacuum so you want to make sure it seats back in there good.

you may also want to clean your throttle body real good and check your EGR valve to make sure that it is operating properly. Definitely start with a tune-up plugs wires distributor cap and rotor and a new fuel filter if you don't have one!
