i have a 2000 ford ranger wont go into 4 hi but will go into 4 low does any one know whats up

It could be the transfer case shift selector motor. You can check the connections down at the motor to make sure you have a good connection. If the connections are good, you will probably need to replace the motor. Are you hearing a "click" noise when you're operating the mechanism? It's good you are hearing the click as that means that relay is working.
