If it's from a dealer, they should help you with paperwork and temporary tags/permits. If from a private seller, you'll have to obtain your own temp tags in that states DMV/BMV. Some states may require proof of insurance to do that, so contact your insurance agent prior to picking up car. Alternatively you could ship the car you buy, but that can get expensive.
