will later model metal pull-out style exterior handles fit and work properly?

i have the old style tahoe with factory flip up style plastic exterior door
handles. 2 are broken. am looking for more substantial and durable
replacement handles for all four doors and rear split door.

I haven't seen any metal replacements before. You can't use an older model handle, I can't think of any that would work. The plastic ones should be enough unless the door is hanging up alot or the linkage isn't adjusted right making you pull too hard.
