2000 Ranger 4x4 very hard on fuel

I have a 2000 Ford Ranger 4.0 ,5 spd that gets about 300 kms per tank.There is no cel on and it runs great.But its a pig on fuel.Any ideas?

Try some general maintenance things. Check and replace air filter, clean throttle with throttle body cleaner, replace fuel filter if have not done so in awhile and add fuel injector cleaner to gas tank.
