Anti thief module

Asked by losingfaith Jan 18, 2018 at 02:27 PM about the 2014 Chrysler 200 S FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I replaced my ignition unit with a used 1 from a
2010 200.everything was identical except for the
last two letters in the p/n the earlier model was F
and the original was G. After reassembling the car
everything worked but it would not start, even after
I had a locksmith try and program the key. Now at
the dealer they have given me a new ignition a new
anti-theif module. And it turns over nut count run.
Now they are looking at maybe a new pic. That's
insane. I know there must be someone out there
who knows his job and solve this problem before a
broken key cost me 1500USD. Are there any
qualified mechanic left in the USA. MOT WERE I'M
LOCATED

So what is your question? Perhaps you should not be the one working on your vehicle. I would never use a used ignition module ESPECIALLY one with a different part number.
