loss of revetse

My xc70 crosscountry will not back up in reverse.
It will drive fine other than in reverse.
This is a 1999 xc70 crosscountry with 223000
miles

Consider your self lucky that the trans lasted that long. Time for a rebuild.

Any codes? Up arrow light? Do the reverse lights still light up when shifted into reverse? Your PNP switch could be on its way out, but that would be on the easy side of repairs. How's the fluid look, and when was it last changed?
