Should I keep the over drive off

Yes, unless you're on the highway cruising. If you leave your car in over-drive in city traffic, the engine may lug and you'll put extra strain on the motor.

That's exactly what I do, what Markw said in my Corolla. It goes in to O/D at 35mph and runs at barely 1200rpm. But at highway speeds, yes absolutely turn it on
