Would a busted resaviour make
my 2000 Ford focus run hot

It could because you would be loosing coolant from the engine when it heats up, so that coolant is not getting replaced when the engine cools down. The engine would be running low on coolant all the time.

It seems the hood rod rubbed a pin hole on the side of it,now it will not start,it's like it is out of gas but has a half a tank.There is no water in the oil.It turns over but no fire,please help.Ive ordered a new reservior

Probably lost spark, look at the wires around where the hood was rubbing, may have worn some threw. Otherwise the normal checks would need to be done in diagnosing the ignition system. Check to see if there is spark.
