down to one code p1118 no other codes

Asked by arvilee Sep 11, 2015 at 07:47 PM about the 2004 Hyundai XG350 4 Dr STD Sedan

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

replaced TB, TBS, TB Motor, APS  now what?  Checked fuses.  Scanner
shows all O2's are working.  Cleaned TB.  Cleaned all connectors at TB.
Car is stuck in limp mode.  Pulled the ECU and sent it to be tested and all
pins are good.
TSB show open circuit or bad wiring???  Don't know how to do this.
I have another 2002 xg350L which is running fine and I switch the parts
between them to test.  So far parts from the 2002 put on the 2004 have not
corrected the issue and the parts put on the 2002 from the 2004 have
worked fine.
Any other suggestions?

I think you need to get the car flashed or the ecm reprogrammed to remove the codes...

when I had the ecu box in center dash tested they also flashed it but no change.

If you removed your TPS or replaced with a NEW one, you'll have to make micro adjustments to it by rotating CW (from front of car) until it gets out of limp mode. These are very small adjustments and they take time. Clear the code 1st. Engine MUST be cold to set properly. Srart cold engine, begin to rotate TPS clockwise until it comes out of limp mode. Shut it off. Disconnect battery and reconnect. Start cold engine again. Now start easing TPS in CW movement, lock down lightly. Disconnect battery, reconnect. Repeat steps until limp mode stays away and IAC takes motor to 1200-1500 RPM for cold idle. It should fall off to between 750 and 950 from this point. Disconnect battery, reconnect one final time and verify motor behaves normally. This is a critical adjustment and is EXPENSIVE. Once you get this result, you probably have it as driveable as possible.
