My Explorer will start (hesitates, but starts), and when I turn it off, it won't start again unless I let it sit for awhile. Any ideas what it could be?

rust and corrosion at the main ground connection...follow the black battery cable From the clamp TO where it bolts to the chassis/frame....unbolt the lug...with a pliers hold the lug while wirebrushin' both sides....wirebrush the spot where the lug was bolted to....and bolt them back together for a fresh supply of 12.5 volts to the 'lectric devices such as flashers...etc.~....yes, insufficient grounding potential...make sure the battery is not yet five years old because it will start to play hell with the alternator as it tries to charge a battery that will not charge up properly~

The battery has nothing to do with your engine hesitating. It's a fuel issue. Usually that's a fuel pump, fuel regulator, or the sensor
