Key fob for keyless entry on my 2000 Ford Explorer won't stay programmed to my car replaced the batteries and still won't stay programmed any suggestions

Is there anything else it may be cause both fobs are doing the same thing just unsure that the odds of both going out at same time is a rare coincidence

If by chance it turns out the fobs arwe bad, you can get new ones for $5-6 on ebay. I have bought several for me and friends
