Can I buffer and clean my headlights new?

Asked by Kirsten Aug 04, 2017 at 09:10 PM about the 2005 Hyundai Tiburon GT FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Hi, in April I bought my Hyundai Tiburon and so far
I have replaced the rear bumper, hood, and stereo.
Next I want to work on the headlights, I cannot just
buy the lens cover for my car. I have to buy the
whole assembly, which i do not need and costs
$100+ EACH. So my question is can i just buffer
and clean them to make them look new again ?

Try Meguiar's head light polish. It works for me. I bet you can buy a set of new headlights a lot cheaper than that on Amazon.

They're over $100 on amazon. I've checked Amazon, what, and car-part.com. It's the same everywhere used and new

Any one of the name brand headlight cleaning and polishing kits will work, like 3M or Meguiar's etc. You need an electric drill and some masking or painters tape to protect the paint near the headlight. Follow the instructions and those headlights will look almost like new.

I did this everyone's taking about the (kit) yes it works but TIBURON headlights are tricky I ended up doing mine 3 times. I am OCD so I sanded my lens cover all the way to the plastic and re cleared them and wet sanded and buffed them out. They look brand new now! Also u should join Tuscany nation on FB if your not already a member
