Question type: Maintenance & Repair

First thing in the morning when I put my car in reverse to back out then again when I first
put the car in drive my Sonata jerks terribly and has trouble going into the gear. It does
not do this at any other time of the day. We have checked the transmission fluid and the
level looks good I don't know what else to do and I'm not sure if we can afford to have a
mechanic look at it right now. Please Help!

Sounds as if the fluid is not circulating on a cold start. Hyundai does not recommend a flush. It could be that the filter is clogged with material. I would at least change the fluid and filter.
