2002 sunfire

My car is 2002 sunfire 2.4 was driving home all of
a sudden it started missing bad lost power I finally
got it home and noticed the catalatic converter
was cherry red

Thank you I initially thought that 1 of the coil pack went bad so I took it apart I unhooked the battery terminal to clear the ECU when I hooked it back up it started sounded a little better but it's not running right I am now thinking if can sensor or something is bad
