Security system

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have replaced almost every sensor in
this car. Along with battery, starter, and
alternator and gone back and tested
again. First sighn of electerical
problem was after removing bottom
steering column shrowd my cruise
control quit working along with the
light. The car would sometimes lock
me out unexpectedly. I would get
noises coming through the speakers
when radio was off. I could have been
attery on a slow charge all night and
day and as soon as I turned the key it
would act like battery was dead, I
wouldn't even be able to charge phone.
I have checked every where for a
ground usdue. A no d have found and
fixed them There is probably more and
as I continue looking for my problem I
keep finding little issues that I know
can all add up. What I'm looking into
now is replacing the turn signal lever
and attached harness and from what
I've read my security system may be a
problem. There is not been a security
light that cane on and never knew there
was one. Under the hood is a plastic
piece about 3 in by 3in 1/8in thick with
wires witch I thought was a radio deal
like Syrius fm or something to that
effect. I work on this car daily and on
positive note I have learned a lot. But I
have to get on with my life(lol) but
because I have so much time invested
in this car I'm to stubborn to quit. In
one week ,not related ???, driverside
wheel bearing assembly went out, the
very next day the passenger side short
axke snapped and a few days later the
lower ball joint just came apart luckily
before getting out if driveway.

That device in the picture "may cause harmful interference" with engine computer (ECM). If it is not original equipment, I would disconnect it. Then disconnect the battery for a few minutes to reset the ECM. Try that and if it still misbehaves, scan for new codes and repair accordingly. Don't replace any more stuff without a reason/code.
